Hi, I’m Ekundayo ‘Dayo,’ and I’m excited to meet you!
I specialize in psychotherapy for teenagers and adults, guiding individuals and families through life’s challenges with compassion and expertise.
I aim to help you increase your self-confidence, discover who you truly are, and find your purpose. Together, we’ll build the tools you need to navigate life with clarity and resilience.
As a psychotherapist, I’m passionate about empowering teenagers and adults alike to embrace their true selves. Whether you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, family conflicts, or the complexities of identity and multicultural experiences, I’m here to walk with you on this journey.
My ultimate assignment is to help you break free from what is holding you back so you can thrive, set boundaries, and make empowered life decisions.
My therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, positive psychology, and motivational interviewing. This eclectic mix allows for a personalized and comprehensive approach that equips you with the skills and strategies you need to achieve meaningful, lasting change.
With over a decade of experience working with diverse populations, I specialize in treating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, and helping individuals navigate the pressures of growing up as a child of immigrants. I provide a safe and welcoming environment where you can explore your emotions, understand your strengths, and unlock your potential.
In addition to my clinical experience, I bring a unique perspective from my background as a former elite track and field athlete. Competing at the national level and qualifying for Olympic trials taught me to push through mental barriers to peak performance. Having experienced anxiety firsthand, I know the power of mastering your mindset. This personal journey deeply influences my work as I guide clients toward self-awareness and confidence to reach their goals.
At the heart of my practice is the belief that everyone deserves to feel empowered, confident, and equipped with the right tools to live a fulfilling life. Together, we’ll work to help you define and pursue your purpose and build the confidence to embrace your true self and live life fully.
At RenewIn-Minds Coaching, I specialize in empowering individuals to unlock their potential and achieve meaningful growth through life coaching. My approach is tailored to support clients in areas such as executive leadership, work-life balance, personal development, confidence, empowerment, mindset, accountability, and career advancement. Life coaching is a collaborative process designed to inspire self-awareness, foster resilience, and develop actionable strategies to help clients thrive in both personal and professional domains.
In my work with adult clients, I create personalized coaching plans that align with their unique goals and aspirations. Together, we define clear
objectives and develop a structured, solution-focused approach to achieve them. Every session is driven by the client’s desire for change, with my role centered on providing guidance, accountability, and encouragement to reach their ultimate goals.
My coaching approach emphasizes building confidence, cultivating a growth-oriented mindset, and recognizing the strengths and resources each client already possesses. By fostering clarity and self-empowerment, I help clients identify and overcome obstacles, set realistic yet ambitious goals, and take decisive steps toward a more fulfilling and balanced life.
Empathy, respect, and transparency are at the core of my practice. I am committed to creating a positive and supportive environment where clients feel valued and understood as they navigate their journey to success. My role is to challenge and support clients as they step into their full potential and pursue a life aligned with their values and vision.
At RenewIn-Minds, my mission is to partner with you in building a purposeful and empowered future. Whether you’re navigating career transitions, seeking greater confidence, or striving for personal growth, I’m here to guide you every step of the way, ensuring your journey is both transformational and fulfilling.
Many individuals, including myself, have experienced moments in life where they feel hopeless and unheard. Each day can feel like a constant struggle, whether due to unresolved childhood trauma, situations beyond our control, or the challenge of balancing school, extracurricular activities, and personal life. I believe it’s crucial to find strength and learn how to overcome the battles in our minds before we can truly move forward.
At RenewIn-Minds Counseling and Coaching, I’m here to help you explore the root of your issues and discover the beauty that life holds once the haze of pain is lifted. I work with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds, offering a genuine and open space where you are free to embrace who you choose to be.
Counseling focuses on addressing emotional, psychological, or mental health issues through a therapeutic relationship with a licensed professional. It typically involves exploring past experiences, trauma, and emotions to promote healing, self-awareness, and personal growth.
Life Coaching, on the other hand, is more forward-focused. It’s about setting and achieving specific goals, improving performance, and enhancing personal or professional growth. A coach helps individuals identify their strengths, overcome obstacles, and create actionable plans to achieve their desired outcomes. Coaching is typically less about emotional healing and more about empowerment, clarity, and achieving tangible results.
Please complete initial intake forms at least 48 hours prior to your appointment so we can have to time to review your paperwork. This will allow us to make the most use of our time together.
Yes, all of our sessions are currently virtual.
If you cannot keep the scheduled appointment, you MUST notify me to cancel or reschedule it within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time. If you cancel or reschedule more than three times, we may re-evaluate your needs, desires, and motivations for treatment at this time. A $165 fee will be charged for no-shows and late cancellations (less than 24 hours’ notice).
There is no definitive answer to this question. Though it’s safe to say more than a session or two is necessary to make any headway on what brings someone in, some individuals find a few sessions are sufficient, while others choose to continue long-term (over 20 sessions).
Often people choose to continue to work with me through additional items as they arise, while others choose to address additional items outside of the therapeutic context. There isn’t necessarily a correct answer, but we can collaborate together to help you make the ultimate choice for yourself.
I do not accept insurance at this time. However, if you have Out-of-Network (OON) benefits through your insurance coverage, I can provide you with a receipt, or “superbill,” containing the necessary details for you to request reimbursement from your insurance carrier, if applicable.
Out-of-network benefits are part of your health insurance plan allowing you to see therapists and other providers not in your insurance network. This means you can still work with me, even though I’m not a part of your insurance company’s list of in-network providers.
Paying for Sessions: You pay me directly for our sessions.
Filing a Claim: After our session, I can provide you with a “superbill” (a detailed receipt) that includes all the information your insurance company needs to process your claim.
Getting Reimbursed: You submit the superbill to your insurance company, and they may reimburse you for a percentage of the session fee based on your plan’s out-of-network benefits.
Working with me means you get personalized care tailored to your unique needs. Many clients find that the benefits of this kind of support outweigh the costs, especially when insurance helps cover part of it!
