Hi, I’m Ekundayo “Dayo” Sogbesan, LCPC, LPC, founder of RenewIn-Minds Counseling and Coaching. I specialize in helping adults and emerging adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and questions of identity and purpose. Many of the clients I serve feel stuck in patterns they cannot fully explain—repeating the same relationship dynamics, struggling with self-worth, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or finding themselves reacting in ways that do not align with who they want to be. My goal is to provide a supportive space where we can explore these patterns together and help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself.
One of my greatest passions as a therapist is psychodynamic work—exploring how past experiences shape present thoughts, emotions, beliefs, and behaviors. I believe that many of our current struggles have roots in earlier life experiences, family systems, attachment relationships, and messages we internalized about ourselves and the world. Together, we will examine the connections between your past and present, identify the beliefs that may be keeping you stuck, and create opportunities for lasting change. Rather than focusing solely on symptom relief, I strive to help clients gain insight into the deeper patterns influencing their lives so they can make more intentional and empowered decisions.
With over a decade of experience serving diverse populations, I integrate Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Positive Psychology to meet each client’s unique needs. As a child of immigrants and a former elite track and field athlete who competed nationally and qualified for Olympic Trials, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to my work. I understand the pressure of navigating expectations, overcoming mental barriers, and defining success on your own terms. In addition to psychotherapy, I also offer coaching services for individuals seeking personal growth, greater self-awareness, and support in breaking generational cycles. My coaching work is designed for those who want to move beyond surviving and begin living with intention, confidence, and clarity. Whether through therapy or coaching, I am committed to helping you develop the insight, confidence, and tools needed to create a more fulfilling and authentic life.
Many adults come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, or stuck in patterns they can’t seem to break. Simone Mabry is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Maryland and Washington, DC, who provides a compassionate, nonjudgmental space for adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and major life transitions. She believes therapy can be a space to better understand yourself, develop healthier ways of coping, and create meaningful change.
Simone takes an integrative, client-centered approach to therapy, drawing from evidence-based practices and her extensive experience working with individuals and families impacted by trauma. She helps clients develop emotional regulation skills, strengthen resilience, improve coping strategies, and gain insight into the experiences and beliefs that may be influencing their present. Her approach is supportive, collaborative, and tailored to each client’s unique needs and goals.
With a professional background in community mental health, behavioral health, trauma-focused services, and community-based programs, Simone brings a depth of experience to her work with adults. Her goal is to help clients move beyond simply managing symptoms and toward greater self-awareness, confidence, emotional well-being, and personal growth.
Simone earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Hampton University and her Master of Arts in Counseling from Trinity University. She is also continuing her professional development through the Community-Based Integrated Substance Use Training Program at The Catholic University of America. Outside of her professional work, Simone is a proud mother of two and values the importance of family, community, and purpose.
Verro Ejiba-Mouloumba is passionate about helping individuals find freedom from addiction and supporting them as they work toward healing, recovery, and renewed purpose. Her passion for addiction counseling grew from her experience mentoring young adults. When one of her mentees struggled with addiction, the issue became deeply personal to her. That experience opened her eyes to the far-reaching impact of addiction—not only on individuals but also on their families, friends, and communities. It strengthened her desire to walk alongside those affected by addiction and help them discover hope, support, and pathways toward recovery.
Verro is currently pursuing a Master of Divinity (M.Div.) with a concentration in Addictions Counseling, integrating biblical and theological studies with specialized training in addiction recovery counseling. Her studies are equipping her to provide compassionate, ethically grounded, and faith-informed support that considers the spiritual, emotional, and relational dimensions of recovery. She believes everyone deserves to be treated with dignity, understanding, and compassion, regardless of their struggles or circumstances.
Her background in teaching has helped her develop patience, active listening, and a commitment to understanding people as individuals. Additionally, her data analytics experience has strengthened her critical thinking and analytical skills, helping her approach challenges thoughtfully, explore underlying factors, and consider care approaches that reflect each person’s unique needs and circumstances.
She is especially passionate about working with young adults, supporting them as they navigate life’s challenges and work toward healthier, more fulfilling futures. Her goal is to create a supportive, nonjudgmental environment where individuals feel heard, respected, and encouraged throughout their recovery journey. Verro Ejiba-Mouloumba also recognizes that addiction affects entire support systems, and she values the importance of helping individuals and families find pathways toward healing together.
As she continues to grow in her counseling practice, she is committed to lifelong learning, ethical service, and holistic care. She She hopes to support each person’s journey toward recovery by offering compassionate support, encouraging resilience, and helping them recognize that addiction does not have to define their future.
Many individuals, including ourselves, have experienced moments in life where they feel hopeless and unheard. Each day can feel like a constant struggle, whether due to unresolved childhood trauma, situations beyond our control, or the challenge of balancing school, extracurricular activities, and personal life. We believe it’s crucial to find strength and learn how to overcome the battles in our minds before we can truly move forward.
At RenewIn-Minds Counseling and Coaching, we are here to help you explore the root of your issues and discover the beauty that life holds once the haze of pain is lifted. We work with individuals and families from diverse backgrounds, offering a genuine and open space where you are free to embrace who you choose to be.
Counseling focuses on addressing emotional, psychological, or mental health issues through a therapeutic relationship with a licensed professional. It typically involves exploring past experiences, trauma, and emotions to promote healing, self-awareness, and personal growth.
Life Coaching, on the other hand, is more forward-focused. It’s about setting and achieving specific goals, improving performance, and enhancing personal or professional growth. A coach helps individuals identify their strengths, overcome obstacles, and create actionable plans to achieve their desired outcomes. Coaching is typically less about emotional healing and more about empowerment, clarity, and achieving tangible results.

Yes, all of our sessions are currently virtual.
If you cannot keep the scheduled appointment, you MUST notify us to cancel or reschedule it within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment time. If you cancel or reschedule more than three times, we may re-evaluate your needs, desires, and motivations for treatment at this time. There is no definitive answer to this question. Though it’s safe to say more than a session or two is necessary to make any headway on what brings someone in, some individuals find a few sessions are sufficient, while others choose to continue long-term (over 20 sessions).
Often, people choose to continue to work with us through additional items as they arise, while others choose to address additional items outside of the therapeutic context. There isn’t necessarily a correct answer, but we can collaborate to help you make the ultimate choice for yourself.
We currently accept Cigna, CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, Medicaid, and UnitedHealthcare insurance plans. If you have Out-of-Network (OON) benefits through your insurance provider, we can also provide you with a receipt, or “superbill,” containing the necessary information for you to submit to your insurance carrier for possible reimbursement, if applicable.
Out-of-network (OON) benefits are part of your health insurance plan, allowing you to see therapists and other providers not in your insurance network. This means you can still work with us, even though we are not a part of your insurance company’s list of in-network providers.
Paying for Sessions: You pay us directly for our sessions.
Filing a Claim: After our session, we can provide you with a “superbill” (a detailed receipt) that includes all the information your insurance company needs to process your claim.
Getting Reimbursed: You submit the superbill to your insurance company, and they may reimburse you for a percentage of the session fee based on your plan’s out-of-network benefits.
Working with us means you get personalized care tailored to your unique needs. Many clients find that the benefits of this kind of support outweigh the costs, especially when insurance helps cover part of it!
